Key Components of Our English Enrichment Programmes for Primary Level

Writing

Your child will be equipped with writing skills to enhance both language and content, such as employing sentence variety and ensuring their ideas are relevant to the given theme. With each writing assignment, teachers use 3-Point Feedback to highlight students’ strengths and areas for improvement. To help you chart your child's progress in various writing components, we have pre-/post-tests for writing in Terms 1 and 3.

Reading

Your child will learn the common comprehension question types (e.g. Inference, True-False, Vocabulary and Referent questions) and apply strategies specific to each question type. You will receive Reading Comprehension Progress Reports to help you understand how your child fares across various question types, as well as his/her language competency in addressing comprehension questions. Employing the BEAN it! strategy, your child will be able to extract answers from the passage with precision. Guided Reading is also used to facilitate your child's understanding of reading passages.

Grammar

As the foundation for fluency in reading, writing and speaking, grammar is a critical part of the LiteracyPlus syllabus. No one likes to do boring grammar drills, so we have designed grammar to be reinforced via interesting thematic passages and games. Your child will learn grammar rules alongside basic morphology (basic blocks of meaning in language, such as suffixes -ed and -ion). These concepts will be strengthened across components such as Editing and Synthesis & Transformation.

Comprehension Cloze

Our unique C.R.I.S.P. strategy will equip your child with the skills to locate and identify clues in given passages.
